I was recently introduced to MS OneNote on the ENworld forums. I found a copy and boy do I love it. I have about 50 pages of MS Word notes on my hard drive and I cant wait to get them all in one place. The software allows you to create new tabs on the main screen and numerous sub tabs under each category you decide to create. I’ve been using this program for about a week now and I truly love it. It was made for RPG’s! Thank you Bill Gates!

Calamas development

For the past few days, I’ve gotten serious about getting the city of Calamas developed. I want to convey the city’s to all of the adventurers senses. Here’s a sneek peek:
Alchemy Shoppe/Apothecary – This large shop is a mix of
apothecary, herbalist shope and alchemy laboratory. It is run (openly) by the
Order of the Vile and this is their chief means of selling their wares to the
public. During business hours, there is a staff of 10-12 people on duty
organizing, filing, packaging and selling everything that the Order
manufactures. Here one can buy a variety of poisons, toxins, antidotes, acids,
soaps, perfumes, love potions, sleep potions, glues, solvents, paints, drugs,
healing potions, tinctures, lotions, teas and tobaccos
The Baker’s Oven produces all manner of Dwarven baked goods, primarily
bread. The back of the shop contains the ovens and the work tables. It is
blocked off by a wall from the front of the shop which has a counter where
everyday baked goods are displayed and sold.
The cost of various food items is as follows:
Various breads: 3cp-7cp depending
on size and grains
Cookies: 1sp/dozen
Cakes: 2sp

Adventure Seeds

Today I worked on some adventure seeds or outlines for upcoming modules. The modules will be based off environments:
1. Marsh/Bog
Several townspeople have disappeared lately into the local swamps. The constables couldnt find the cause or find any bodies. They have asked several adventurers to explore the marshes and locate the victims dead or alive.
Background: The bog region near the town was recently inhabited by Ratmen. They are on a pilgramage to find their long lost god in a city that sank below the ground and created the Bog. The Ratmen dont have any intentions on the human town but have killed and kidnapped travellers within the bog to keep their secret safe. The town has sent several constables to investigate, but they never returned. The council has turned to adventurers to seek out the fate of their citizens and stop any menance within the bog that is a threat to the town.
2. Forest
The local Baron has seemingly turned mad. He has enslaved his surrounding lands to look for a magical weapon thought to be deep in the forest. The town fathers have sought help from the King/Queen and they have only the resource to send some adventurers to find out what is going on and possible stop the Baron if needed.
Background: The Baron is under the spell of a powerful druid who needs the Barons resources to find a magical device (TBD) The device was created by a long dead druid cult that once ruled these lands. Since the human populations “encroachment” into the forested lands. He thinks the device will protect the forest and ban further incursions by woodmans and others.
3. Mountains
The town is slowly dying from a strange disease that makes people mad. The townspeople arent strong enough for the journey, so they’ve asked several adventures locate and ask a mythical creature (TBD), that was fortold long ago, had the powers to heal them in times of great need.
4. Polar
The Ice King has reared his ugly head again after disappearing years ago.. Is this the same Ice King as before? The local people thought he was killed by stout hearted adventurers after being trapped in a cave.
5. Desert
An expedition has been commissioned by several weathly families to find and secure artifacts in a long lost deserted city.
After trying to fend off a Storm bird attack. You and your companions find yourself castaways on a deserted beach. The pirate lord Mangles has built himself a nice little slave camp and doesnt want to be disrupted. You and your friends have other plans.

Beta map of Calamas

Calamas is the capital city of Altalissia, a nation-state in my campaign city of Ebonyr. I drew this map in MS paint over a 4 day period. Next I’ll draw a map of the city in Paint Shop Pro and it’ll be complete. Well, not really complete, I’ll have to flesh out the city with NPC’s, organizations and the like.
