Well, yesterday and today I’ve been working on a town writeup for Orisa. Orisa is a small port town on the Meridian Sea. Its claim to fame is its proximity to the Ebony Isles and the mysteries there in.
I’ve also started working on the basic outline of B1 Mace of Souls.

Another website that I used a lot is Slide. It takes your pictures and artwork and allows customization so that you can post them on your own website. Slide makes the whole process very easy and the end result is fantastic.

Well I was watching MNF until the 3rd quarter blowout by the Chargers.
Anyhoo, I was messin around with Fractal Mapper and came across this great tool called drop shadow. I really like how this map turned out. I might have a keeper here.

I’ve been really struggling, as of late, on the format of my new module and modules there after. I’ve been creating different styles of maps and posting them on the Goblinoid Games forums for feedback. I also wanted to create some background material on BBEG (Big Bad Evil Guys). I’ve started with a flowchart created in Open Office Draw and then converted into a PNG file.
On the module structure, I really suck at describing rooms. I was thinking about putting that labor onto the LL during the game. I would have a map of the room with furniture and encounters and maybe a smell to give the LL more information.
Tell me what you think?

Today’s link is for an image converter. Sometime when I upload an image I forget to make it a .png or .jpg and leave it a .bmp. BMP files take so long to upload because they’re not compressed. This website solves all of those problems.

I started writing a back story to the next module, Mace of Souls.
1. A semi-underground temple has come under attack from within
2. The most precious relic, The Mace of Souls, has been taken.
3. PCs enter the picture by coming in the back door of the temple, hopefully defeating the monsters who now dwell there and finding the temple folk.
4. The temple folk thank them for the rescue and beg for their help in finding the Mace.
This adventure will have the following environments
1. Underground complex – dungeon/cavern crawl
2. Underground lake/water
3. Hollow sphere -world within a world
4. Airship
5. Forest
6. Desert/wilderness

Today I’ve been thinking about the new adventure I’m working on and what I learned from the first one, Visionventure Module A-1 Dark Shore. I came up with a list of things to improve or innovate:
1. Make the cover more appealing
2. Come up with a font family that consumers/games can identify Knightvision Studios.
3. Develop a more interesting way to describe rooms/caves/encounters.
I’ve found that I’m terrible at describing encounters which I personally find mundane. Example: two beds against the wall, blah, blah and more blah.
I was thinking about putting all the items needed to be described on the LL map and letting the LL describe it to the PCs. Maybe I could have small map of each encounter instead of a huge map. I would describe the monsters, BBEG or NPCs that are in the encounter to help the LL with the flow of combat and the reasons the encounter is there.

Here’s what I came up with a “brand” cover for future modules.

I found a gem of a site last weekend that I must share. Its called BookletCreator.
I allows you to submit your PDF and it exports it as a booklet that you can print out. I thought it was pretty cool for a small RPG publisher as myself.
Enjoy.

I’ve been thinking of ideas for the next module,”Mace of Souls”, and I came up with a few interesting ideas.
1. Based in a wilderness/desert area, kind of like the Sonaran Desert where I live at.
2. Based partially above and below ground
3. Based upon an abandoned temple complex that was once dedicated to four gods
4. Have a mix of desert and underground monsters
5. Have at least one very complex puzzle or trap
This adventure will be for character levels 3-4 and based on Labyrinth Lord, of course.
Here’s a rough draft map
